According to the Texas Legislative Board’s “Statewide Criminal and Juvenile Justice Recidivism and Revocation Rates” report released January 2019, over 45% of individuals who served time in prison were re-arrested. Education, employment opportunities, and mental health challenges are a few of the greatest challenges these individuals face upon release. Personal Accountability Toward Healing (P.A.T.H.) is an E-Learning course that provides a holistic approach to addressing the challenges of re-entry. This course includes modules on social reintegration, career readiness, as well as health and wellness. P.A.T.H. employs an innovative approach to reducing rates of recidivism with a virtual platform that can be accessed despite the individual’s location and custody level. Over the next five years, we hope to educate 21,000 formerly incarcerated people and expand our reach to include educating community members on the challenges facing the justice system today.

We plan to provide holistic re-entry services to inmates in order to prepare them for their transition from incarceration to freedom. We want to also build an app to empower inmates after they are released so that they can continue to learn and have opportunities to listen to our podcasts as they navigate issues that everyone faces coming home.
