What are the purposes of the fund
for Anthony Graves?

The most important one is to help Anthony when he finally regains his freedom, which we hope will be the result of the re-trial in the spring of 2011. Then he will need somewhere to live, he will need time to write about his life and experiences – and he might also need money to fight for economic compensation from the state of Texas.

A limited percentage of the funds will also be used to administrate the support work itself. This includes the fund, the website www.anthonygraves.org and the facebook group. In accordance with the practice of European charities, the administration costs will never exceed 20 percent of the total sums (and are in fact much lower).

Please note that the fund is not collecting money for Anthony Graves’ defense. His very good defense team is financed by the state of Texas, which is bound by law to supply money in cases like this, and also because lawyers from the law firm Mullin, Hoad & Brown from Lubbock, Texas are working pro bono.
